Alright, for those of you who don't want to try learing all this, you can just copy the code below whenever you want to link to the first page ot the Charts, Stats & Lists topic:
Charts, Stats & Lists
Now, for the rest of you, I'm going to try and show you (hopefully in the easiest way possible) how to link to a specific post without simply hitting "quote" and reposting the entire thing. These directions can be used for any post on this site that you'd rather link to than quote from. Admittedly, this probably won't happen often for any other posts but the charts are big that it will be a good idea to try it this way.
First, go to the post you want to link to. At the top of every post is the title/subject of that post (usually Re:Title of Topic). It is also a link, so right click on it and click "copy shortcut" or "copy link location". Then paste it into your new message. There are two ways to do this:
- You can highlight it and click

in the text editor
or, as I prefer to do it:
- You can type the text you want the link to display and highlight it, then click
, then go into the resulting code and paste the link location preceeded by an equal sign (=).
For example:
(Link Text)
Also, for a full list of the new code style for this site and examples of how to apply it,
click here. Feel free to start using it to make your posts more beautiful... but use some of the wilder stuff sparingly. You'll almost never need the Marquee code, especially not on any text you want people to actually read.
(but I digress)
